Santa Barbara. Off the harbor only a mile or two. The early-morning sunlight and calm waters cleared 40 feet of visibility, allowing our Underwater Cinematographer, Jenny Baumert, to capture some amazing footage. Shooting in the open ocean takes a lot of preparation, training, and can be very hit-and-miss with factors such as early morning fog, rough ocean waters, and water visibility, but can produce top-notch visuals when done correctly. Sharks migrate off the coast this time of year: The captain sternly warned our crew of multiple Great White sightings within two weeks time, so be sure you have a genuine badass puttin’ on the tank!
